What Modern Franchise/Game would make kick ass 16 bit games?

Bayonetta would be a good Shinobi style game.
Burnout would be awesome done in top-down Spy Hunter Style.
Yakuza would be a great action RPG/ Beat-em-up (see also Dragon's Crown).
Metroid Prime would be great in 2D, you could unlock new abilities and go back through the levels to access previously inacesssible areas!
Mario 64 would also be good in 2D.

Metroid Prime was already done in 2d....its called Super Metroid.
