Is that the one with the giant cannon Erza deflects?

Not sure when Netflix will have more, they seem to have 50 episodes and no more. Might want to try funimation.com it's free with ads in the USA but unavailible to me with a Euro IP address.

Hunter x Hunter is awesome BTW, stick with it till the end of the Hunter trials.

Gave up on Vampire Knight 6 episodes in, it's so boring. Gave up on Yu Yaksu (Whatever) is a hero, boring shite too similar to Puella Madoka.

8 eps watched in Deadman Wonderland and it's okay but hasn't lived up to its early promise and it's a short series so only a few chances left at redemption.

I need a new anime to watch on Netflix but the rest are all with the Japanese dub and I can't be sacked at reading at the moment.

I finished Broken Blade

It's a mech anime with 6x 50 minute episodes. It's very good, done well but not particularly original.

The story is centered around a young man named Rygart Arrow, a resident of a world where people can use "magic". This magic is the ability to control and empower quartz, doing many things from creating light to operating machinery to riding giant mecha called 'Golems'. Rygart, however, is one of the few exceptions; as an "un-sorcerer", he cannot utilize quartz, making many aspects of life difficult as well as being looked down upon by the rest of society. Despite this, in his youth he managed to befriend Hodr and Sigyn, the future King and Queen of the Krisna Kingdom; and Zess, the younger brother of the Secretary of War of the Athens Commonwealth.

Years later, Rygart is reunited with Hodr and Sigyn where he learns the Athens Commonwealth has begun an invasion of Krisna

The fights are great, nice animation, great dub. I hear it's been repurposed as a 12 episode anime in 2014 with added bits, would be interested in seeing that. Its one of those animes where the manga wasn't far enough on to continue though so it has an ending with room for further stuff to happen.

Robotics Notes is testing my patience. Just slogged through an episode about a girl afraid of robots because one fell on her as a child and her Grandad has a metal breakdown over it. It's markedly less dramatic than it sounds. I'm starting to think this Steins Gate company is vastly overated.

This and Steins Gate both offer a mix of hinting future conspiracy with light hearted nothingness in between that never really gels and never really satisfies in the end.

Someone just died in Robotics Notes.

They pulled a Steins Gate. The conspiracy stuff is interesting but the school robot club feels like filler.

A Certain Magical Index looks fun in trailers but is actually quite pants. 17 eps in.

In Robotics;Notes, the player assumes the role of Kaito Yashio, someone who enjoys fighting games. He is in his school's robot club. The story begins when the protagonist finds out that one of Robotics;Notes' main heroines is actually a genius programmer who created the game engine for a world-renowned fighting game.

I finished Robotics Notes and it came good in the end. I'd put it above Steins Gate as it's more likeable. Feels like it could be 13 episodes rather than 22-ish. Then it would be awesome like Eden of the East and not overbloated with irrelavence.

Finished A Certain Magical Index season 1 - it was fairly pants with some groan enducing anime tropes yet watchable.

I've been watching Accel World and it's good shit so far. Same goes for Magi season 2 part 1

I was watching Fairy Tail part 16 last night and noticed the animation had taken a hit in quality. So I read this today:

Set sixteen marks the start of Fairy Tail 2, technically a sequel to the original anime but pretty indistinguishable in terms of the plot – it simply picks up where the first series left off, with episode 176. The animation and character designs, however, do look a little different, with less fidelity to Hiro Mashima's designs in terms of how bodies are put together (something he's generally decent at) and more shoujo look to the characters. This is most seen in the new ending theme (first of two in these episodes), which looks like it was intended to be for a high school romance but had the characters turned into Lucy and Natsu at the last minute.

I thought something was up. The character models are slightly off. The series looks flatter now and less rounded and glossy. And the colours are all muted. Magi done by A-1 pictures too looks like Fairy Tail used to. I can only assume that when FT 1 went on a break the animators moved onto other projects and now they got some new staffers or even external studios to animate the new FT series. Kinda sucks.

Finished all 13 episodes of Black Bullet

In the year 2021, mankind is ravaged by the epidemic of Gastrea, a parasitic virus, and is forced to live within the Monolith walls, which are created from Varanium: a metal that is able to subdue Gastrea. Soon, children who were born with the Gastrea virus and obtained superhuman abilities as a result, are discovered and dubbed "Cursed Children". Due to the Gastrea virus' intervention, the Cursed Children could only be female. Civil Securities are formed to specialize fighting against Gastrea, operating with the pair of an Initiator, who are cursed children, and a Promoter, serving to lead the cursed children. Ten years after the epidemic, Rentarō Satomi, a high school student who is also a Promoter in Tendō Civil Security Agency owned by his childhood friend Kisara Tendō, along with his Initiator, Enju Aihara, conducts missions to prevent the destruction of the Tokyo Area and the world and on the journey gather trusted allies.

And it was okay, pretty entertaining and decent. It has the whole Harem comedy thing though, every girl is after the male lead and there are a lot of loli stuff about kids loving him too which is weird. The opening 5 minutes looks cool and raises your expectations for a Nausicaa like or even Terminator future set with humanity at war. Then 5 minutes later it switches to a much more conventional anime set up which is a shame. But it's still watchable and entertaining enough.

Finished Accel World, parts one and two all 26 episodes.

Haruyuki "Haru" Arita is a short, overweight boy who is frequently ridiculed by delinquents at the Umesato Junior High School. Using his Neuro Linker to escape the torment of real life, he logs onto the school's Local Network cyberspace where he always plays virtual squash alone, and his innate video game skills bring him to the attention of Kuroyukihime (literally meaning "Black Snow Princess"), the school's popular and attractive female Student Council Vice-President.

After helping him against the delinquents, Kuroyukihime introduces Haruyuki to Brain Burst, a secret program that is able to accelerate the human cognitive process to the point at which time appears to stop

It was decent overall with a few dips here and there. Season 1 was better than 2. There's a bit too much moralising from the lead and the whole second series is devoted to beating this one kid which is kinda lame. There is a movie coming and I hear another series.
