Not sure of the two but ipad3 looks much nicer. Also its bigger.

Yeah it must be, that's why this dude was saying it was better than 2 only.
So do you know what the square thing on the left corner is. Is that to switch to pad view only? I would guess that would be the TV button on the bottom though.

yeah I even highly doubt this, though I'm sure the Wii U pad screen is nice it's not ipad nice.

I think they checked the resolution etc compared to iPad 2 and it turned out Wii U's screen was better quality.
EDIT: was just some forumer saying it though.

Yeah, checked the pic that is the NFC reader.
Yeah the guy on Gaf is wrong (which happens a lot )
Wii U Pad 854 x 480
Ipad 2 1024 x 768
Vita 960 x 544
Niether is HD but ipad 2 is a lot closer.
I hear that Vita's screen is better than the Wii U pad screen which makes sense to me.
Reading some more on the screen.
One guy says:
"Its more-or-less Wii resolution except in native widescreen whereas the Wii being limited by SD connectivity could only use anamorphic widescreen (640x480 stretched by the TV to widescreen)."
Another says:
"Not as detailed as on the TV but far more detailed than the 3DS, over 4x as many pixels in fact."
But doesn't it have 4X the pixels because the screen is 3 times as big or something?
Someone who has tried it and owns an iPad 2 says:
"It's really nice and crisp and the refresh rate is excellent. I might actually use it over my iPad 2 for Netflix in bed."
More impressions:
"Not technically HD, but with its screen size, the DPI and picture quality have been fairly universally praised."
"It's 480p but with the size of the screen what you will be seeing visually will look like you're playing your 720p games."

Isn't the picture quality, resolution relative to the size of the screen though? Wii U's screen is like half or a third of iPad 2's screen size, so they are comparing the pixel density etc too?
It sounds nice, have not seen it in person yet. But screen quality is not all resolution anyway so we will we see, It is better than 480P which is 640 x 480 its 854 x 480 so it has a fair amount more pixels than 480p. But like I said screen quality depends on other things too. I have seen 480 screens that look a whole lot better than some 720 screens. But I have seen Ipad 2 and I would say its pretty nice.
When I do get it, I will be be able to do a first hand comparison of Vita and it, I will post my impressions here ...

Yeah I just checked, they are all talking about PPI, pixels per inch and they are saying that it is better than iPad 2 PPI. They are saying that it's better than the 3DS screen, which is fine for me already.
"I think 3DS XL is like 95 ppi and Wii U is 158. The iPad 2 was 132 for reference."
Probably not exact^
I have only the latest iPad at my bros house.

The screen is about the same size so given the resolutions you gave Vita's screen is better, which I would expect. I think the main aim of Wii U's screen is to be a serviceable alternative for when you can't use the HDTV. And they wanted to keep costs down too.
I hear the screen is actually better than iPad 2.
