Last night I was looking at my entire game collection wondering what I should play. I had fighting games, shooters, adventure games, RPGs, platformers, racing...you name it...but I just stared at them. And oddly enough, I just felt like playing nothing at all.

I know I always share my love for RPGs. And even with Final Fantasy XIII still awaiting for me to complete it, I just didn't feel like putting it in my system and going for another run. Same with Tales of Vesperia. Yes, I'm ashamed to admit I haven't beat that yet. Do I have to even mention my WRPGs? Ugh ~ I don't know where to begin with those: Dragon Age and Oblivion can't keep me interested for even 10 minutes!

I got Batman AA, Dead Space, and other action games but I just don't feel like installing them on my 360 to play them. I haven't even touched any of my Wii games for a long time. I just made my Monster Hunter Tri character and did only like two missions. I'm already bored. As for Super Street Fighter IV, I like to play a couple of rounds once in awhile. But even then, I just can't play for longer than half an hour. I'm hopeless.

Even with my purchase of Red Dead Redemption and Super Mario Galaxy 2, two of the best games of this generation by far, I have no desire to play them. I don't know why. I just don't. I love these two games but I see myself just admiring the fact that I have them.

Even with online shooters, which makes up most of my gaming casual fare. I'm getting kind of bored of them as well. Modern Warfare 2 and Battlefield Bad Company 2 are getting boring now. There's no competition. Too many hackers in MW2 and in BFBC2, most of the servers are empty at night. I'm sick of getting into empty games.

But I found some recent light with Bayonetta. Maybe it's the way the developers designed Bayonetta's perfect butt or it's the crazy action scenes, but I'm having fun with the game. Also, I like playing arcade racers like Split/Second and even that Sonic and Sega All-Stars Racing game I have. Online is dead already in Sonic and Sega All-Stars racing, which is a shame. So I'm even thinking about getting Blur.

Anyway, this is just the recent mood I'm in. All I feel like playing is arcade racers and games that star a hot chick in it, which is why I'm also playing Wet, which is dumb mindless fun.

Maybe it's just my recent mood, or maybe I finally need to find a girl and get married. I don't know.

What does this all mean!?

*sigh*

You tell me. :(

Whenever I don't feel like playing games (which seems to be happening more and more often as I grow older), I just do something else instead like read a book (after I masturbate, of course. WinkWink ).

Another thing you can do is what I'm doing now.  Having been a litle burnt out on Dead Space (having played them back to back) I mixed in something completely different (so I'm alternating between Dead Space and Bolt (a mediocre licenced game for the Wii -- from Avalanche Software, makers of the upcoming Toy Story 3).

Raven -- what's this old shit?  Age doesn't make a difference man.

It has with me. I didn't say it happens to everyone.

Fair enough.  So what kind of books do you read?

Hmm, I read whatever catches my interest at the moment; I like to walk through a bookstore or library looking for something to read that I hadn't heard of before. Narrowing it down to genres, I tend to gravitate towards suspense novels the most, often with a science fiction or supernatural twist. Dean Koontz is probably my favorite modern suspense novelist. I also like science fiction, mystery, psychological horror, and classic literature. I'll read anything from Edgar Allen Poe (my user name comes from his poem The Raven) and William Shakespeare. I enjoy non-fiction as well, usually regarding animals, nature or psychology. I'd give up my game consoles before I gave up my library card. Happy

It's a phase ASK. It happens to us all. I haven't touched a game all week.

Raven do/did you ever read George Pelekanos?  Excellent suspense/crime/thriller writer I think.

ASK ... just don't pressure yourself.  just do things you feel like doing and enjoy.  One time that may be gaming, another time it may be going out to find a girl ... and there's always masturbating.  enjoy yourself Happy
