No jokes please, I've known this cat for over 10 years and loved her very much.

We (the vet) thought she had tooth problems and she was booked to have an operation. Then out of the blue they found she had a tumour on her tongue, her tongue had split in two and that the cancer had spread to the rest of her mouth. She had her mouth inspected by the vet not 2 months ago.

Now they put her down. This morning I thought she was going in to have a tooth out, an hour later she's dead. crying

I keep looking around at places she used to sit or things she used to do in her favourite spots. crying

I can't even imaging having them die in your arms. I think the worst thing was 10 years back one of the cats got hit by a car, a couple found him in the middle of the road and brought his, rigamortis ridden body to the house.

Sorry for being the late responder; I'm not good with death, particularly given I understand there's nothing I can say to truly make things better.

It's not easy, but keep yourself going.  You can't replace the loss, nor would you want to, but the goodness you felt is not gone, and you can feel better in the days ahead.  Pay heed to the times you had, and not the times you won't.

Feel better, and remember we're here.

Sorry for your loss GG.

I've always loved animals. And although I never really owned a pet myself, I do understand that it'll be painful to lose a dear pet you've taken care of for many years.

Hang in there.

Honestly, it's great to talk to you guys everyday. Don't underestimate the joy this site brings into my life. It makes life bearable sometimes. I actually deleted a pretty heavy post from this blog.

I can see my cats face in front of me, even when I don't have my eyes closed. It's like a burned in image on a TV screen.

I have another cat I have had since I was 14 years old and he is still going strong. I will be a wreck when he goes.

I am sure he can bring you some comfort at a time like this. Happy I hope he has not been too affected by the other cat's death. I know some would scoff at that, but all the pets I and my family have had have been greatly affected when another pet dies.

These cats are at different houses. I broke down stroking the old one yesterday. But after that I was okay.
