Can you turn the music off and leave the sound effects on?
Yes.

The camera has changed a little, for the worse. In the first game you could choose your focus point by literally pointing in real time and clicking to take your shot.
In EO2 you have to choose and set your point, then take the pic after movement.
I don't understand -if you have a fish in the top right of your camera screen how do you focus on it ?
Well, if you click a creature it locks on where you have that info bar at the bottom like the first game. Then if you enter camera mode it auto-tracks the focus point on the animals eye socket. Which isn't very helpful as these creatures sure love to swim about and turn their rear end to you.
In EO1 you could change the camera in the advanced settings then just point and click like a lightgun shooter and the pic would focus where you had pointed.
In EO2 you would change the camera in the advanced settings and instead of light gun point and click you would point and click to set your focus point, changing it from the default center to say, top right.
That square sits there in the top right, regardless of how the fish moves and you sort of have to use the very loose bounding box to move that now fixed box over a moving target. It can be very difficult sometimes. This is all in zoom/focus mode though.
In free diving/swimming its easier to just get out the camera and you can still swim about and get the perfect shot.
Dang, I'm at 24 hrs already and barely scratched the surface. I've found there are secondary events, for instance when you dive a location again you get more events and cutscenes.
Also the dive partners you choose allow you to do different things, for instance dive with Oceane and she can give you a guided tour of the area, Hayako can show you all the event/cutscenes again, GG gives you extra salvage capacity.
This room is wow. The detail, considering its SD.
I discovered this underwater cove type place.
Here I just wanted to get a good pic of the vegitation.
These are sea goldies, damn the focus.
This pic is very poignant, could be considered a spoiler.
I've been busy diving and taking pics for youse guys.
I see Narwal whales. But a frigging shark attacked my ass from the rear.
OMG OMG, Sea otter and babies FTW
Inside my aquarium the baby Polar bears play
More aquarium pics, I put my fave fish in one tank.
The river fish, guppys mainly.
Antartic surface, look at the depth of field there.
Mother****, basking shark. Wow, they really have increased the species in this game and the common species from the first game are (in a nice touch) harder to find.
The team hanging out in Cisceros straight while I dive.
How cute is this badboy?
I found him, little nemo about to go on a grand adventure (suck my balls Vader!)
Boat textures are as good as the Ghost Ship from the first game.
Lovely. Apart from the sharks sneaking up on you...
Zahab region may be the glory spot of the game, but Ciceros has its charms too Yar, thar be treasure to plunder.
Yes.
