Another short review: Its so big, so so big. No not that, the game you pervert. Xenoblade has one of the most beautiful worlds ever put into a video game, it is majestic. Its worth playing the game to simply explore the world. The combat is fast paced and sort of uses the MMO style queue attack system, its mostly real time. There are all sorts of combat systems in place that are rather unique to RPGs, i really have never played anything like it. When fighting a worthy opponent battles have a very good flow with plenty of strategic opportunity. Sadly finding worthy opponents is hard as there are a bunch of easy enemies or some super enemies you cant even try to fight, the middle ground was hard for me to find. There are like a million side quests but most of them are of the fetch quest variety which is the worst part of the game. Here is a game with a giant NPC tracking system where you can mend relationships and follow the lives of all these city folk. But most all of it boils down to go there kill that or grab 5 of something. Even when the storylines are well done there seems to be a total lack of presentation, there is basically no acting at all in this game outside the major story moments. Storylines where some live altering event happens to an NPC is usually handled in the most boring clunky way possible, all done with text and a static NPC. If Monolith fixes those issues with X they can have something that rivals TES. The story was exciting with some great main characters. But again the star of this game is the game world, there is really nothing like it. |

Are you going to get X? If it's anything like Xenoblade, which it patently is - as anyone who's played Xeno will tell you, it will be a super amazing gameworld to behold.
