When I heard all the praise for a game built around 3 second moni games I was skeptical of it all. Well everyone was right, this simple concept somehow works brilliantly when put together the way Wario Ware is. You basically play levels of increasing difficulty, each level requires you to beat like 20 of the 3 second mini games, you only can lose 4 of them. They come fast, with almost no info except one word which describes what you need to do. Then the mini game starts and you have 3 seconds to perform an action that has to do with everything from timing, button mashing or dodging stuff. As you play logic puzzles begin to be added and by the end its just an insane mix of trials. The fast paced nature is what makes it so fun and addictive, you never know what you are going to get. The intensity starts to build as you get deeper and deeper in the level and you only have one life left, 3 seconds to either live or die. You can also play any of the mini games as a score attack which continuously increase in speed until it becomes to fast for reflexes. The result is quite a lot of content, about 6-7 hours if you do everything, unlock all mini games, etc. Such a simple basic concept executed perfectly. |
