This game surprised me a lot and has turned into one of my favorite horror game in years. It doesn't play like any horror games you are used to. Its an odd fusion of gameplay mechanics spread out in bit sized chunks.  Most of the time its a stealth game with weird monsters instead of guards. You have this ability called sight jack with allows you to see through the eyes of the enemy, I perfer a simple radar but it makes the game unique and disturbing when you see what these creatures see.

The best aspect of this game by far is the variety in the gameplay. While the stealth is the main focus its mixed up so well. You play as many characters and in different locations and situations.  The game is split in chapters and each one has gameplay sections where you have a goal and depending on the character, different weapons or skills.  For instance in some sections you are a little girl that has to stay completely unseen. In another you are a guy with a rifle and have to provide cover fire for others. Later you are on an escort mission where you have to solve some puzzles. It never grows old cause the game always has you do something new, even if in old locations.  As the game goes on it just gets better and better. Its creepy as hell, the gameplay is fun, and the levels are done in such a way that you will want to replay them cause you can complete some using different tactics so its a deep game as well.

Sadly the game is being held back by some of the gameplay controls and decision. As I said the sight jacking is a major part but its the one thing that doesn't feel right, when you go into this mode you lose half the screen to the vision of the enemy.  All of a sudden the framerate drops and you cant your character and the level well at all, its too hard to play. The camera sometimes stays too close to your character and unlike RE4 this game has very enclosed spaces so it gets hard to see things. Combat is really simple, but its not the focus of the game, when you do need it, it feels right enough; ibut ts no RE. One of my personal complaints is that there are only 4 or 5 large locations in this game and they are reused over and over. Its not that bad cause you are always doing someting different in them but a little chage of scenery would be nice.

It looks good, it plays great, awesome vareity, good replay value, great length, very creepy. If you enjoy horror games and have been disappointed lately this game is for you.

Is this the downloadable game?

Yes its the downloadable game, which is a terrible idea.  It takes up ten gigs total. It takes forever to download (thankfully you can play after the first part is downloaded). Its just a mess where a disc would be so much better.

they should do like warhawk and put a disc out....why the fuck not?

I don't like this trend of making things downloads just for the hell of it.

So how many parts are there, wasn't this suppossed to be episodic? If this is 10 gigs, wont the series just fill your hard drive up?

The whole game is 10 gigs.

The episodic shit is retarded with this game. If you buy it in episodes, it ends up costing you $5 more than just buying the whole thing at once.

Wrap that around your head for a minute.

^Also, that's how many downloadable map packs and whatnot are on PS3. Like Warhawk has 3 map packs....you can buy each one individually, or buy all 3 of them together for less money. So why buy anything individually?

They just want to give an incentive to buy the whole lot. Business works that way i guess.
