I doesn't really surprise me that they're making a mobile version. There's a lot of people who play Diablo on easy mode and literally do nothing more than button mashing. In that regard, it actually fits limited mobile control schemes pretty well. And as a loot game I can think of a few ways they could turn it into a micro-transaction based game very easily. They're probably going to make a metric asston of money with this. Oh well, so long as good stuff is still coming down the pipeline, I'm okay with it.

Even if you're not playing on easy, aren't you just left-clicking ad infinitum?

Well, on the hardest levels you will run into issues if you're not being at least somewhat mindful of your special attacks at the right time. If you were playing solo anyway.

The worst part about this Diablo mobile game is that it's actually made by some Chinese company who has made other mobile games that literally look JUST like this Diablo game. Reskinned.

It blows my mind that a veteran company like Blizzard can be this out of touch. Why would you think it's a good idea to announce this at Blizzcon, full of hardcore PC fans, as your major announcement? After not making a proper new Diablo in years. It would be fine if they had also said don't worry, we have the true sequel in the works. But to just do this is dumb. Like EA with their mobile Command & Conquer was dumb.

This is akin to Nintendo announcing a mobile Metroid game in place of MP4. You have to expect people are not going to be pleased.

Fair enough, but that still doesn't sound like it couldn't work on a touch screen.

They would have to make a few concessions to get the game to work. It could not be as frantic and fast-paced as the regular versions of Diablo. But if they slowed it down a little bit it might work. Of course, then it might not really feel like Diablo and might not appeal to the hardcore portion of the fan base. But, Diablo is so insanely popular that even if you're just going after the casual fans it might be enough to make some serious money. This is a series where each installment sells tens of millions. 20% of that could still generate a lot of money.

That does kill me. I have no problem with them making this kind of game. honestly, it's almost more ridiculous that there isn't already a mobile version of Diablo. But announcing it to your most hardcore fervent fans at BlizzCon? What other way could that possibly be received?
