^This is discussed in a new podcast, should be up in a couple of hours.
Well 1st of all you're playing it with a controller instead of a KB/Mouse, so the combat would be different just based on that. Mass Effect is more like a shooter, so the combat isn't affected as much by the different control options. Its simpler. I don't know, I really can't see how you're not blown away by this game outside of that. I'm shocked actually. You said it was awesome, then it wasn't....then it was, then it wasn't.
I don't think I really had ANY complaints about this game. Except a few glitches here and there. It was my pick for GOTY last year, hands down.
Maybe this is the problem.
Eyes bloodshot, fingers aching, back arched from sitting in front of the TV for hours on end...
Yeah, I played A LOT of Minecraft this weekend! Here is a picture of not my castle!

What about you little Diggers?
Not much, actually. But I went to a nice picnic with John McEnroe.
I played about an hour of Uncharted 3, and a couple rounds of Galaga this weekend.
All of this Minecraft talk lately is making me want to play Animal Crossing again, but I has no DS.
I played:
and
My tower is nearly complete, a level or two above the clouds. Now I want to expand the roof, maybe make it a bachelor type pad with bed, chairs, possibly a bridge. I've made a boat so I need an awesome dock. I'll doors for each level of the tower(about 15.),windows later, furnish every room with a bed, chest, whatever. Take that, Animal Crossing!
I finally gritted my teeth and finished de Blob 2. Thank god it's over. It was soooo freaking repetitive and the last levels really seemed like they went on forever, but mercifully it's done.
Also thanks to a 1up article that reviewed the entire series, I finally after 3 false starts began playing the Riviera: The Promised Land for the GBA. So far it's incredible. It's been very difficult to put down. Really kicking myself for taking almost 6 years to finally play it.
Smaller GameStops Dropping PSP From Shelves
At my local Gamestop you wouldn't even realize they're selling PSP games. There's one really small rack towards the back of the store, that shares space between PSP games, and a bunch of accessories no one in the right mind would want to buy for the Wii and PS3's Move. I'm pretty sure my store is going to be one of the ones that lose the titles. Oh well I gave my PSP up two years ago, so no loss.
While I'm on the subject of Gamestop, for god's sake their managers are douchebags. I suppose that's not entirely accurate since real douchebags occasionally get close to vaginas. God the guy at my store is such an annoyance. As soon as he starts running down the list of preorders "I would be foolish not to get" I just want to slap him and walk out the store. Not that these feelings are either unique or new.... just felt like venting.
Would.
Not.
Stop.
Talking about fucking preorders.
What's making the pre-order situation even more annoying with them is if you use your Power Up card, they can see what you've played and the system makes recommendations based on that. I bought a few games for my kids last go around and now the idiot is being a good little monkey and pitching me on Disney and Nickelodeon games.
I talked about it a lot more at GS, in the Witcher 2 thread there. It really should be a game I love but it is just not doing it for me. Still a very good game, its just not anything I would say GOTY worthy.
I haven't seen too many people talk about it, but is anyone picking up Diablo III this week?
Bad week start, the son of a coworker passed away this morning due to acute complications of undiagnosed diabetes. He was quite young, 28 years.
