I know they also laid off a bunch of staff a while back, and they were already way too thin for editorial and news. Way too thin. And the biggest sign to me that no-one gives a shit or has time was them giving up on their podcast.

I wonder how much of their traffic is from people confusing the site for GameStop?

Most of it was from news, reviews, cheat codes, and things of that sort. While other sites offer all of that at better quality what really killed a lot of social media sites, and an explosion of niche gaming sites and blogs.
