I bought Faeria (Switch) on eshop sale for $5. Looked interesting. It's a digital card game similar to Hearthstone.

Great pick ups for that price.

I was thinking about picking up the Castlevania Collection for the switch, but then I saw Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon 1 & 2 were also for sale. So I figured I would pick them up and play some Castlevania games I haven't played before instead of rebuying ones I've already been through many

Grabbed two more games on The Switch:

No No Kuni (for the low low hobo price of $9.99)
The Messenger (multi-retro-generational ninja game for half off)

What's annoying is that Ninokuni 1 was on sale at one point for like 6 dollars.

And never that low again.

The extra $4 is okay by me. It is certainly worth more than I'm paying. Level-5 was probably my favorite developer during the 00's, and while I only made it halfway through this game when it was first released (rented it through Blockbuster and just never got a chance to return to it) it was pretty damn good with some spectacular moments.

I shy away from JRPGS these days. Too much to learn, too many menus. Battle systems I can't remember if I take a week's break.

Grabbed Asura’s Wrath and Killer is Dead from the Xbox Back Compat sale. $5 and $3 Canadian for each respectively.

Picked up the Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection and already regret it. I am no longer good at any of these games. I mean, not just rusty. I suck. I don't think I've gotten past the third fighter in any game I've played so far.

I'm also a little disappointed. I thought they'd be a little more upgraded than this. They are very accurate ports, but I was hoping for something more polished like the PS3 HD remaster of Third Strike.

I considered getting Asura's Wrath as well.  Thought about picking up the Arkham games collection too.  I never played them and they were pretty cheap.  Alas, this whole kerfuffle with our son prevented me from getting back on the Xbox to actually buy them.  Perhaps it's for the best, I wouldn't have had the time to play them anyway.

edit: the Xbox sale is still going on...  The temptation...  Must...  Resist...  Adding more games to backlog...  crying

After going back and forth on it for a year, I finally bought The Sinking City. They've got it on sale for $10. If it sucks as much as some reviews say, I can live with myself at that price.

The same developers made a better reviewed Sherlock Holmes game which just came out on Switch.

But you can get it on PS4 for 10 Bucks or something.

They've made several Sherlock Holmes games in the past, and while they weren't amazing they were still good adventure/mystery games and I did enjoy them. That's why I was willing to overlook some of the poor reviews in The Sinking City. But at the end of the day this was a very ambitious game without the budget to match. Really feels like a PS2 game.

I wanted to get it at a super budget price for the investigation aspects. The combat seems bunk.

The investigation aspect isn't even that good. Far more overly complex than it needs to be. In one instance, I'm trying to identify a patient in a hospital. Basically you're trying to identify somebody by his wound and there is only one person in the hospital who has this wound, and yet even after you talk with him you still have to go through patient records to verify. And the way you access patient records requires way too much work.

Anyway the story has been really cool, but I pretty much hate everything else about the game. Not sure how long I'll be able to stick with it.

I've bought the OLED version of the Nintendo Switch with New Pokémon Snap and Fire Emblem: Three Houses. $800 altogether (New Zealand dollars anyway) but my brother paid half of it. It's my first time buying a console since I got a used Wii in 2014.

I'm tempted to get this before the sale ends but I'm uncertain. I haven't even played the first two.

I've added Pokémon Legends: Arceus, Super Mario Odyssey and Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury to my collection.

And I've got my brother's old Xbox One now, so now I can finally play Blinx: The Time Sweeper again.
